“Fairy tales do not tell children the dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children the dragons can be killed.”
― G.K. Chesterton

I, like many people, fell in love with fairy tales, and all things fantasy and animated as a child. I never outgrew them. As an adolescent, I fell in love with figurative art and portraiture. The portraits I paint today are snapshot celebrations of perseverance, hope, love, and sexuality. I embrace a pallet of bright colors to echo the zesty and playful approach I still take to life as an adult. Through portraiture, I explore the faces we present to society and expose pieces of our humanity that sit just below the surface. I don't believe we keep skeletons in our closets. We have dragons under our skin.
