“Gloria” represents Pride in my Only Human series, which depicts the 7 Deadly Sins and 7 Heavenly Virtues. With this painting, I aimed to depict a gentle, optimistic Pride that always looks toward the sun, even on the darkest days. While I will never understand their struggles, I greatly admire the strength, tenacity, and pride with which women of color carry themselves, and I wanted to honor them with this piece.
